The number of femicides is skyrocketing in Turkey. Alert women’s rights activists: three women are murdered every day. 90 percent from their husbands. The gruesome murder of a student sparked national protests in the summer. At the same time, the government is threatening to abolish the Istanbul Convention on the Prevention of Violence. The women are part of a power struggle in the country.
